We have been home for about 6 hours. All bodies are washed, nails clipped and feet scrubbed. The washing is nearly finished and the UNpacking is done. Groceries have been purchased, parents have been skyped with and Gwen is getting her hair combed.
I am tired. Exhausted. Wiped out. Zonked.
We departed our abode at 4am on Boxing day to travel 4 hours north for a wedding. After two days with Rouru's cousin and his wife and three kids we once again bundled into our chariot and drove to Tui Ridge Park to set up our camp for Big Camp/Camp meeting. The weather promptly turned an we got flooded on the Thursday before camp began. We were lucky to be moved to higher ground but out air vent leaked. Wet tent. Wet feet. Mud EVERYWHERE. And that was Friday!
The camp itself was great. The kids LOVED their meetings and making so many friends. As the mother - cooking and washing and trying to stay sane - I eventually reached my limit. I got a lucky break through camp and did our washing and drying! Ah it is the little things. We were also super blessed that dear friends Pam, Phil and Derrylea had come up to camp with Maddison and were staying in Rotorua. New Years Eve we spent in their dry home and ate at a table with cutlery! It is the little things that make a beautiful day.
On the 3rd of Jan I celebrated my 34th birthday. I praise God for another year of life and look forward to what 2012 holds for me:) Again the Hardy's made my day super special with a trip up the Gondola and lunch at the cafe.
But we are now home. And for this I am grateful. I am going to go to bed early and sleep for a long time. The kids can get up and play but I just want to sleep in my own bed!
Three more weeks till I go back to work! I am going to continue making the MOST of every moment.
